4/25/13: PAL'S PLACE
PARTICIPANTS: BANE, LOUP, MANTIS, GREEN LANTERN, ZEPHYR, JURGEN
** First official use of Ventrilo for gaming
The above-referenced team travelled to the coordinates of PAL's not so secret Arizona bunker/hq, which was an old government missile silo that PAL had purchased in 2001.
The team split into groups to infiltrate and search the facility. There were no security systems active that the team could find. After a thorough search, Bane found a set of computer consoles, with a dead body in a wheelchair sitting before them. Mantis, Zephyr, and GL found another set of unidentified computer consoles in a different part of the facility. The team brought Joe Hicks to the site to look over the computers, and he told them the systems were a unique design, both advanced and primitive, in that it was using actual iron core memory elements, but had a very sophisticated control system. After some additional study, Joe indicated that he thought the system was a holographic projector. AlertForce reasoned that this might actually be a control system for PAL (or an earlier version of PAL) and decided to take the whole system back to the danger room in LA, and set Joe to work on getting it operative in a controlled environment.
On arrival in LA (courtesy of a GL flight) AlertForce placed the computers in the danger room, but were surprised to see Harlee Quinn (a longtime danger room guest/prisoner?) walk over to them -- right through the Danger Room illusionary walls. Loup, reacting before anyone could stop him, dropped Harlee like a bad habit, with a single chop to the neck. GL and Mantis immediately attacked Loup (doing no damage) and Bane grabbed Harlee and pulled her out of the Danger Room, while Joe ran for cover.
The situation quickly diffused, as Mantis and GL lectured Loup on treatment of guests, and HAL revealed that apparently Harlee, after months existing 24/7 in the danger room, had developed an immunity to the illusion generators.
